All The Potential Ways Hemp Protect Balm May Help Your Pet

With old age comes inflammation, arthritis, and hip & joint issues. These issues can make your pet’s last years unenjoyable, and even worse, they can cut their life short. That’s why it’s so wonderful to see all the studies and trials coming out showing how hemp may really help maintain a normal state of health limiting out-of-control inflammation that plagues older pets everywhere.

Who doesn’t love scratching insect bites? But obsessive scratching can cause a lot of issues like hot spots and eczema. Our pets don’t know this, and that’s why our healing topical contains hemp and apricot kernel oils that may help soothe and calm your pet skin while healing the bites. We included lemon peel oil to help discourage insects away from biting the irritated area.

They’re big, fluffy, and we can’t get enough of it. But all the fur raises the likelihood they’ll experience skin problems. Our healing balm contains avocado seed and jojoba oils, which studies show may help hot spots and other dermatitis issues that plague our fluffballs.

Human athletes have an endless choice of lotions, balms, and topicals to soothe tired & sore muscles, and so should our working dogs and horses. Our healing balm is fast-acting and designed to help muscle recovery.

It’s unfortunate, but some dog breeds are more prone to joint & hip issues. We know this from experience, so we chose ingredients that target inflammation at the source. In our research and expertise, this is the key to keeping pets with genetic degenerative diseases happy and healthy.

Production and Lab Tested Results

With the compounds in hemp coming in contact with cells, repairing and regulating them, the last thing we want is a contaminate hitching along a ride. That’s why we only use hemp that is USDA certified organic and grown free of all harsh chemicals.

For Dry Paws and Skin

What is Heal. Wag. Protect, Balm?

Just like us, our pets can get dry, flaky, rough, and cracked skin. Yet, while we have grocery store aisles dedicated to repairing our skin, there is barely anything available to our pets. Well, it’s time we end that so we created our Hemp-derived Heal. wag. Protect Balm for dog’s paws and joints.

How do dogs naturally release toxins?

Some people might not know this but dogs do not sweat in the way we do. They need to pant to release the heat from their bodies and will “sweat” with their tongue. Also, they release oils through their paw pads and foot pads similar to what we would consider sweating. This is why a dog will wipe his paws on the grass after he does his duty. This is their way of leaving their scent where they marked their spot.

Why are a dogs paw pads so important?

A dogs paws are very important to them and their health as they are acting very similar to sweat glands. Imagine not being able to release the toxins in your own body, your skin would become oily and itchy, toxins would be building up daily. This is what happens when your dogs paw pads dry out. When this happens and it will cause your dog to start licking at their paws incessantly and later down the line start itching all over their body as their skin will begin to suffer. Certain breeds, such as German Shepherds, will have a tendency to have dry paw pads more often than other breeds. It’s just part of their genetic disposition. That makes it extra important to be aware of paw protection as you do not want to encounter more problems down the line.

We love our dogs and we have always known about this issue but their was never a truly safe skin balm in the market for pets from our perspective. Most had ingredients that you could not pronounce and many were not safe for ingesting so pet owners with dogs who lick were not able to use those products. We wanted to create a paw balm that could do it all, and it was a lot of work, but we’re happy to say it paid off!

How and Why did Innovet Pet Create a Dog paw balm?

When designing our dog paw balm we wanted to make sure that every single ingredient was organic and safe. At Innovet Pet we do pride ourselves on our organic claim and want to stay as consistent as possible with all of our products across the board. That said, when creating a salve for paw protection we knew we needed something that was safe to be ingested and soaked through the skin. A dog paw is also very sensitive so we needed to make sure each component of the salve was soothing for your pet. We avoided anything that could irritate as it was applied. Also, It needed to be a consistent compound that was perfectly blended with a carrier oil leading to the ideal consistency, a quick absorption rate, and not too oily. No need to have it lingering on the outside of the skin and getting on you, your furniture, etc.

Using hemp oil and avocado seed oil as our carrier oils, this proved to be the best performing in test after test. It can be worked into the paws, between the toes and rubbed into those hard-to-reach places for dogs that have the many folds as Bulldogs do. Our precious Bulldog, Gordon, was our major inspiration for this product and you can find his story Here.

The Best Quality Guaranteed

Organic Hemp Oil

Hemp Oil is a simple, all-natural solution to help dog owners care for their pup’s health. Containing Omega-3 and Omega-9 fatty acids, Hemp Oil has been proven to have healing and protection properties in humans, dogs, and cats alike.

Avocado Seed Oil

Avocado oil helps brings out the shine in your dogs coat! Fatty acids help distribute water throughout the body and into hair. Vitamin E, a fat soluble vitamin, helps do the same. Although avocados aren’t good for dogs , the oil extracted from the seed is harmless and actually very healthy for them.

Organic Hemp Extract

Organic Hemp Extract or CBD may help your pet’s pain, inflammation, swelling and in some cases arthritis. A large factor in the “soothe” feeling the dog will receive , this compound will extend the amount of time your dog feels pain free and starts the healing process.

White Willow Bark

White willow bark is a natural bark from the willow tree that acts a lot like aspirin. Willow bark contains a chemical called salicin that is similar to aspirin and commonly used for pain and fever. Willow Bark Extract has been used for centuries to soothe irritated skin. Salicin—from which salicylic acid is derived—this versatile ingredient is both anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, clearing pores and alleviating acne and irritation. Adding this to our paw balm gives a nice bonus in pain relief that could not be added to a paw wax.

St. John’s Wort

St. John’s wort is recognized as a traditional, folk medicine used topically for the treatment of wounds, abrasions, burns, sunburns and inflammatory skin disorders. This is strengthened with its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and astringent effects. St. John’s wort has been intensively investigated for its anti-depressive activity, but dermatological applications also have a long tradition. In theory this addition to our dog paw balm would calm the dermal layer and allow irritation and swelling to reduce to allow for healing.

Chamomile

People have been using Chamomile tea bags on skin irritations for centuries. In that line of thinking Innovet decided to take a shot with adding this to the dog paw balm. Chamomile posses many powerful healing properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, and contains essential oils and antioxidants. Additionally, Chamomile is hypoallergenic and helps to reduce skin irritants by neutralizing free radicals. Using chamomile on the dermal layer brings along powerful antioxidants which help the skin to regenerate, tighten pores and slow down aging effects.

Lavender

Processed into it’s oil form, Lavender can benefit the skin in numerous ways. It has the ability to lower the occurrence of acne, help lighten skin, and reduce wrinkles. It can even be used to treat a variety of areas, like improving hair health and digestion. Lavender is used to promote relaxation and sleep, and it may also help treat certain skin conditions. Our dog paw balm lavender is mixed with jojoba oil making it easier on the skin and allowing for it to be effective rather than an irritant in it’s pure form. Lavender oil has proven to kill bacteria showing it may prevent and heal acne. Lavender oil is non-comedogenic, meaning that it will not clog pores. It has proven anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties that have specifically shown that it can kill Staphylococcus aureus, which is the cause of eczema.
